Behind the Name

Each member of our little family has a block and drop named after them, infusing their character and style into our small-batch wines. Our S Block Rosé embodies the spirit and charm of our daughter of our daughter Summer.

The Vintage

The region had good winter rains, filling the soil profile, which meant the vines were well prepared for the spring. The 2023 spring was wet and cold, which delayed budburst, allowing for slower shoot growth. Spring rainfall was higher than average, meaning there was higher disease pressure, but it also meant irrigation was kept to a minimum, if any. Grenache used for rosé wasn’t affected by these pressures as it was harvested earlier. Summer was respectfully mild. The combination resulting in a later harvest. Perfect for slow ripening. Allowing flavour development while limiting sugar accumulation. Much more balanced leaving us with elegant wines.
